Congresswoman Presents Flag From Capitol to Morton WWII Veteran

The Chronicle - 4/23/2022

Apr. 22—Earlier this week, while on a trip to East Lewis County, U.S. Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler, R-Battle Ground, stopped by the home of World War II veteran Paul Ghosn to present him with a flag that was once flown over the U.S. Capitol.

"Mr. Ghosn, known to many in the community as a leader, businessman and friend, is also a United States Army veteran who served in World War II," Herrera Beutler said in a Facebook post. "Because of brave individuals like Mr. Ghosn, we're able to live freely in the greatest nation on Earth. We are forever indebted to him, and all our men and women serving in uniform, who protect our freedoms and keep our nation safe."

The VFW/American Legion in Lewis County reached out to Herrera Beutler requesting her help to honor Ghosn with a flag flown over the Capitol, which is one of the services her office provides, according to a spokesperson.

Herrera Beutler was traveling in East Lewis County that day and made a stop at Arbor Health to chat with a health care provider about improving veteran care.
