CCBC recognized for serving women veterans

Dundalk Eagle - 5/31/2018

CCBC Veteran Services was awarded the 2018 Roll Call Award as an outstanding Organization Supporting Women Veteran Entrepreneurs at the recent 5th Annual Maryland Military and Veteran Women Business Conference held at the War Memorial Building in Baltimore. The Roll Call Award recognizes government agencies, nonprofit organizations, academic institutions and private industry for expanding opportunities to woman, veteran-owned businesses.

"I am honored to have accepted the Roll Call Award on behalf of CCBC," said CCBC Director of Veteran Services Christina M. Duncan. "We are comprehensive in our approach to serving veterans, offering a variety of educational and other services through our campus Veterans Resource Centers, which are staffed with Veteran Resource Associates. From military transition counseling and support to community services, we connect veterans to an array of resources needed as they return to civilian life to launch or continue successful careers or businesses."

CCBC has Veteran Resource Centers at its three campuses (Catonsville, Dundalk and Essex), where veterans can receive dedicated support and be connected to military resources and rigorous academic programs that utilize veterans' existing knowledge while preparing them for career advancement, new professions, or workforce training. CCBC's veteran resource associates provide academic and student services support as well as connect veterans to community organizations, counseling services and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
