Red Curtain Foundation?s world premiere presentation of ?The Family Business? by local playwright Griffin Harwood runs April 20-May 6 with performances at the Red Curtain Arts Center, 9315 State Ave. #J in Marysville, WA.

It?s Death?s first day on the job, but somehow the rookie specter manages to screw everything up, starting by showing up at the wrong house for his first appointment. Thanks to Death?s inexperience, the woman of the house, Caroline, learns more about her eventual demise than she should. Fast forward twenty years, Caroline passes on and finds herself arriving in the afterlife on the day of the Apocalypse, meeting Death and his family ? War, Pestilence, and Famine. Now it's up to Caroline to convince the Four Horsemen that the Earth should be spared.

Directed by David Alan Morrison, this modern absurdist comedy juxtaposes fresh cultural references with iconic mythical imagery to create a unique tale of love, redemption, and power of the individual. This play does contain mature content and themes and is not suitable for younger audiences.

Performances are Friday and Saturday nights at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. Tickets are $18 for adults, $15 for seniors (62+), students and military personnel. Tickets are available online at brownpapertickets.com; at the RCF box office by phone (360.322.7402); or in-person at the arts center Tuesday-Saturday from 2-6 p.m.
